Before you delete your account
- Download your data. You can download your photos, videos, and comments from Instagram. This is a good idea if you want to keep a copy of your data before it’s deleted. To download your data, go to your profile page, click on the gear icon in the top right corner, and select “Privacy and Security.” Then, click on “Download Data” and follow the instructions.
- Consider deactivating your account instead. Deactivating your account is a temporary measure. If you deactivate your account, your profile and all of your data will be hidden, but you can reactivate your account at any time. To deactivate your account, go to your profile page, click on the gear icon in the top right corner, and select “Settings.” Then, click on “Temporarily Deactivate My Account” and follow the instructions.
