India will play a three-match T20I and ODI series in New Zealand after the T20 World Cup followed by a three-match ODI and two-match Test series against Bangladesh in December.
The tour of New Zealand kicks off with the T20I series on November 18, just two days after the T20 World Cup final. Senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul have been rested while Hardik Pandya has been appointed as the captain for the T20Is. Shikhar Dhawan, on the other hand, has been tasked with leading the side in the ODI series, which starts on November 25. Rishabh Pant, who has already led India before, has been appointed as the vice-captain for both legs of the tour.
The likes of Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Deepak Hooda and Sanju Samson will have a chance to impress once again in the absence of the senior Indian players, who will be seen returning for the ODIs and Tests in Bangladesh again.
Rohit Sharma will assume his usual captaincy duties in Bangladesh along with KL Rahul as vice-captain. Rajat Patidar and Rahul Tripathi, who impressed with their batting performances during the white-ball series between India A and New Zealand A, have been rewarded with a place in the squad for the Bangladesh ODIs as well.
Jasprit Bumrah, who got ruled out of the T20 World Cup with a back injury, has been rested from these tours again in order to give him adequate time to recover fully.
